Why we fit the Tedee PRO
Of all the smart locks on the market, we work with the Tedee PRO because it’s compact, discreet and reliable, and you don’t need a new door or a new lock. From the outside your door looks just the same (apart from the keypad, if you add one). The device sits on the inside, over the cylinder.

No building work: two options depending on your cylinder
The Tedee PRO doesn’t replace your lock. It attaches to the cylinder (the part your key goes into) on the inside of the door. Before fitting, we check your door and tell you which of these two options is right for you:
Option 1: on your existing cylinder (with an adaptor).
This is possible if your cylinder meets two requirements. First, it needs an emergency function (double clutch), meaning it can be opened with a key from outside even when another key is left in on the inside. Second, it must stick out at least 2 mm from the door or the escutcheon on the inside. If both apply, we adapt one of your keys and fit the Tedee over it, so you keep your lock and your keys.
Option 2: with a high-security “Tedee-ready” cylinder (recommended).
If your cylinder isn’t compatible, or if you’d like to upgrade your security while you’re at it, we carry out a cylinder lock replacement with a modular Tedee-ready cylinder, such as the M&C cylinder with SKG*** certification. This is the highest European security rating, with protection against lock bumping, drilling and picking. It adjusts to the thickness of your door and still lets you open from the outside with a key. As an authorised M&C dealer, we guarantee a genuine cylinder with an ownership card for key copies.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need building work or a new lock?
No. The Tedee PRO fits on the inside of the door, over the cylinder. If your current cylinder is compatible we use it; if not, we just replace the cylinder with a Tedee-ready one. Your lock and door stay as they are.
What happens if the battery runs out?
The app warns you well in advance so you can recharge it, using a magnetic cable without taking it off the door. Even if it did run flat, you can always open the door from outside with your key, because the cylinder we fit has an emergency function.
Does it work without internet or during a power cut?
Yes. It runs on its own battery and talks to your phone via Bluetooth, so it doesn’t need Wi-Fi to open the door when you’re standing in front of it. You only need internet to open the door or manage access remotely (with the Tedee Bridge).
Can I let someone in when I’m not at home?
Yes, with the Tedee Bridge, which connects the lock to your Wi-Fi. From the app you can open the door remotely, create or cancel access and see the activity log in real time.
How does it work with Airbnb or holiday-let guests?
You create an access for each booking, with a start and end date and time: a PIN code for the keypad or a digital key in the app. When the stay ends, the access stops working automatically. No keys to hand over or collect, and no key safe on the wall.
Is a smart lock secure?
Yes. The Tedee PRO encrypts all its communications and uses asymmetric-key authentication. Physical security still comes from the cylinder, which is why we recommend pairing it with an SKG*** high-security cylinder that resists bumping, picking and drilling. Will it work on any door? What about security doors?
It works on most doors with a euro profile cylinder, including many armoured and security doors. The device always sits on the inside, so it isn’t designed for gates or doors exposed to the weather. We’ll check your door beforehand and tell you if it’s compatible.
